FAQ.

What areas do you deliver to?

That covers Marion, Sequatchie, Grundy and Franklin counties in Tennessee and Jackson County, Alabama. If you're nearby but don't see your town, ask. We may still be able to deliver.

What's the difference between #57 stone and #78 stone?

Both are crushed stone; the number is the size. #57 is the larger of the two, roughly 3/4 to 1 inch, and is a go-to for driveways, parking areas and drainage. #78 is smaller, roughly 3/8 to 1/2 inch, and packs into a tighter, smoother surface for driveways, parking lots and general construction.

What's the difference between fill dirt and red dirt?

Fill dirt is used to raise or level ground, backfill around foundations and prep a site. Red dirt is a clay-rich local dirt that packs firm, which makes it popular for driveways, building pads and residential projects.

How much gravel do I need for a driveway?

Multiply length × width × depth (in feet), then divide by 27 to get cubic yards. Most gravel driveways need about 4 inches (0.33 ft) of stone. For example, a 100 ft × 12 ft driveway at 4 inches deep is about 15 cubic yards. Crushed stone typically weighs around 1.4 tons per cubic yard, so that's roughly 21 tons. Send us your measurements and we'll help you figure the right amount.

What's the best gravel for a driveway?

For most driveways, #57 stone is a great all-around choice because it drains well and holds up to traffic. Many people top it with #78 for a smoother surface. Over soft or muddy ground, start with a layer of clean surge or 2" x 3" stone first.

What stone should I use for drainage or a French drain?

#57 stone is the most common choice for French drains and drainage behind walls. For bigger ditches, culverts and heavy water flow, 2" x 3" stone or clean surge moves water even better.

Do you deliver to homeowners or only contractors?

Both. We deliver to contractors, builders and homeowners, for residential and commercial jobs of every size.

Where will you dump the load?

Wherever you need it, as long as the truck can get there safely. Let us know about soft ground, low wires, septic tanks or tight turns when you request a quote, and we'll plan the drop.
